The Bellydance Workshop with Juliana returns to Dancing for Dessert Studio in Langley on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM PDT. This monthly all-levels, all-ages bellydance class is a great opportunity for beginners and experienced dancers alike to improve their skills, connect with music, and explore the art of movement. Led by Juliana, a professional bellydance instructor and performer, this event offers a fun and welcoming environment to learn foundational techniques, improvisation, and expressive choreography.
Explore the Art of Bellydance
Bellydance is an elegant and empowering dance form that enhances body awareness, flexibility, and rhythm. This workshop will introduce participants to fundamental bellydance steps, graceful veil movements, and the art of dancing to dynamic drum solos. Each session is structured to ensure a balance of learning, creativity, and physical fitness.
Attendees can choose from three specialized sessions:
- 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Veil Workshop & Beginner Steps (Classic Arabic Bellydance)
- 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Drum Solo Workshop (High-Energy Cardio & Musicality)
- 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Stretches for Bellydance & Core Strength
What to Expect in This Bellydance Workshop
This three-hour workshop is designed to be both educational and engaging. Participants will learn fluid dance combinations, explore the connection between movement and music, and gain confidence in improvisation. No prior dance experience is necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to try something new or refine their technique.
Juliana, an experienced instructor based in Tri-Cities, has been teaching bellydance since 2016 and has performed internationally. She is passionate about creating a supportive, community-driven environment where dancers can express themselves and develop their skills.
What to Bring and Workshop Details
Participants are encouraged to bring:
- A yoga mat for post-class stretching
- A bottle of water (coffee cups are not permitted inside the studio)
- Comfortable attire suitable for dance movement
Veils and hip scarves will be provided by the instructor for use during the session. Additionally, all attendees must sign a waiver before participating.

Punch cards are valid until June 10, 2025, and can be used at both Langley and Maple Ridge locations. Classes must be used before the end of the season.
