Eden West Gourmet invites food enthusiasts to experience the vibrant flavors of Mexico with their “Cucina y Cultura” cooking class featuring Chef Luis Lopez. This hands-on cooking demonstration will guide participants through the preparation of three traditional Mexican dishes, blending rich history with culinary artistry.
Menu Highlights:
- Pozole Verde de Mariscos: A seafood-based green pozole with hominy, originating from pre-Hispanic Mexico. Pozole, a traditional dish, is known for its unique texture, with the corn expanding as it cooks.
- Pescado a la Veracruzana: A flavorful fish dish from Veracruz, Mexico, simmered in a sauce of tomatoes, olives, and capers. This dish blends Spanish and pre-colonial Mexican ingredients and cooking methods.
- Carlota de Limón: A no-bake lime pie made with Maria cookies. Known as Carlota or Charlotte, this dessert has European origins and has become a popular treat in Mexico and Latin America.
